Congressman Marc Veasey has represented Texas’ 33rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2013 (113th Congress-Present). He serves on the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Armed Services Committee. Veasey founded the first Congressional Voting Rights Caucus to address the immediate need to eliminate the barriers and discrimination too many Americans face at the polls. In the 117th Congress, he accepted his appointment as an assistant and regional whip. In the 118th Congress, Veasey was appointed to serve as a whip for the Gun Violence Prevention Taskforce. Before Congress, Veasey was a member of the Texas House of Representatives, where he was chair pro tempore of the House Democratic Caucus. Veasey earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan University in Mass Communications.
