Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley represents Massachusetts’ 7th Congressional District. She is the first woman of color to be elected to Congress from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Pressley has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 2019 (116th Congress-Present). She sits on the House Committee on Financial Services and the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability. Before Congress, she was a community activist, worked as a senior aide to Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy II, volunteered for Senator John Kerry’s reelection campaign, and worked for Senator Kerry for 13 years in various roles including constituency director and political director. In 2009, she launched a historic at-large campaign for Boston City Council and won, becoming the first woman of color elected to the Council in its 100-year history. Congresswoman Pressley attended Boston University.
