Congressman Donald McEachin represented Virginia’s 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2017 until his death on November 28, 2022 (115th-117th Congresses). During his first term in Congress, McEachin co-founded the United for Climate and Environmental Justice Congressional Task Force and led the task force as a co-chair. He also served on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, the House Committee on Natural Resources, and the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. Before coming to Congress, McEachin was a member of the Virginia state senate for eight years. McEachin graduated from American University with a degree in Political Science and from the University of Virginia School of Law. In May of 2008, he received his Master of Divinity from The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.
