Alfred Lawson, Jr.

Congressman Alfred Lawson represented Florida’s 5th Congressional District from 2017 through 2023 (115th-117th Congresses). Lawson served on the House Committee on Financial Services and the House Committee on Agriculture. Before Congress, Lawson served for 28 years in the Florida state legislature as a member of the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate. Lawson received his bachelor’s degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from Florida State University. He also completed his coursework for a Ph.D. in Public Administration.
