Congressman Anthony Brown represented Maryland’s 4th Congressional District from 2017 until 2023 when he retired to successfully run for Attorney General of Maryland (115th-117th Congresses). Brown served on the House Armed Services Committee, where he helped shape policies to support military training and resources, fight 21st-century threats, and keep the country strong and safe. Brown was also a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and served as co-chair of the New Democrat Coalition’s National Security Task Force. A retired colonel in the United States Army Reserve, Brown’s military record spanned more than 25 years as an aviator and J.A.G. He graduated first in his flight class and received both Airborne and Air Assault qualifications. Brown was awarded the Legion of Merit for his distinguished military service. Before his tenure in Congress, Brown served as lieutenant governor of Maryland and as a member of the Maryland state general assembly where he served as vice-chair of the powerful House Judiciary Committee and, later, as majority whip. Congressman Brown is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School
